Description
This is a full day class for a family or group of friends in which you create your own coat of arms shield. The shield is traditionally the centrepiece for a coat of arms and depicts the family or clan using emblems, patterns and images.
You will learn to score and break your glass, cut it to size and shape it on the grinder, then fit it together with your friends/family’s pieces. You will then use traditional glass paints to create your own unique image or emblem. Don’t worry if you don’t feel you can paint, you will be able to trace your image onto the glass using a lightbox.
You will need to leave your glass with me for firing in my kiln so I recommend you taking a photograph of your shield. Once fired, you will have the option of coming back to solder your shield together. Alternatively I can solder your shield together for you and deliver it to you in the post, or arrange a collection date with you.
